Real Mom Confessions

November 13, 2014

I sing the Doc McStuffins song even when it’s not on. And no else is home.

I divided the Halloween candy according to the kinds I like.
The peanut butter cups bag is almost empty.

I’m addicted to the show House of Cards. It’s in no way morally redeeming. UPDATE: I WAS addicted. I’ve now watched all 26 episodes.

I don’t care if the words are sweet. I don’t care if the song is cute. The constant talking and singing (i.e.: NOISE) is soooo annoying!

I say that it’s ok Brynna doesn’t get a blue stamp like her friends for good behavior. I acknowledge that her being strong-willed means that if we get through the day without major incident it’s a win. But at the end of the day when it’s just me, I still feel like maybe she’d behave better if she had a better mom.

Even when my imperfections are most glaring, even when she’s most difficult, I’d take being her mom over a calendar full of blue stamps any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I ate the candy out of the advent calendar that my kids forgot to get that day.
